Our adoption process includes several important steps to ensure that each dog is placed in a safe and loving home. These steps include:
Veterinary References: We ask for references from your current or past veterinarians to ensure that any current or past pets have been fixed, kept current on vaccinations, and limited too monthly heartworm prevention.
Home Checks: A home visit is conducted, but not always required, to assess the environment and ensure it meets the needs of the dog.
Adoption Application: We require a completed application to better understand your lifestyle, preferences, and how you plan to care for the dog.
Meet & Greet: A meeting with the dog is necessary for approved adopters to see how the dog interacts with your family and any other pets.
Commitment to Ongoing Care: We want to make sure you are prepared for the long-term commitment of a pet, including regular exercise, mental stimulation, and vet care.
We do our best to evaluate each dog individually before placement to ensure the best possible match.
Spay/Neuter Policy for Puppies 6 Months and Younger:
For puppies under 6 months of age, we require a spay/neuter contract. This agreement states that the adopter will have the procedure completed by the dog’s first birthday. This policy helps promote responsible pet ownership and reduces the risk of unwanted litters. Proof of the procedure will be requested once completed.
